Thriving Pets Wellness Plans - FAQS

Is Thriving Pets Plus like insurance?

No, pet insurance generally covers accident and emergency (please check your Pet Insurance Policy for all inclusions). Thriving Pets Plus is designed by vets and pet lovers to include preventative health care and wellness benefits in one simple and affordable package.

How is my Thriving Pets membership paid?

You have 2 options:

1. Upfront Annual Payment

2. Monthly Payment: These payments are automatically debited from your credit card and include an initial upfront payment.

Can I use my Thriving Pets+ membership at any vet clinic?

Yes, we understand the need to visit different veterinary practices and our plans allow you to seek services across different veterinary practices. Please review the Thriving Pets Membership Terms and Conditions.

What is included in the Thriving Pets plans?

Thriving Pets – Dog:

  • Unlimited free access to online telehealth vet chats and advice to speak to a veterinarian or veterinary nurse from YPP (not available through veterinary clinics); and
  • 12 months flea, tick, intestinal worm and heart worm prevention. This is delivered direct to your home address from YPP at the end of each month. This is not available for collection via your veterinary clinic.

Thriving Pets – Cat:

  • Unlimited free access to online telehealth vet chats and advice to speak to the veterinarian and veterinary nurse team of YPP (not available through veterinary clinics); and
  • 12 months flea, tick, intestinal worm and heart worm prevention. This is delivered direct to your home address from YPP at the end of every second month (6 times per year). This is not available for collection via your veterinary clinic.

Thriving Pets Plus – Puppy or Kitten:

  • Unlimited free access to online telehealth vet chats and advice to speak to a veterinarian or veterinary nurse from YPP (not available through veterinary clinics); and
  • 12 months flea, tick, intestinal worm and heart worm prevention. This is delivered direct to your home address from YPP at the end of each month for puppies and end of every second month for kittens. This is not available for collection via your veterinary clinic.
  • Unlimited in clinic consultations (up to a cost of $75 per visit), provided that an appointment has been made with the participating veterinary clinic during normal clinic hours. Consultations performed outside of normal clinic hours, including weekends and/or public holidays, veterinary specialists or behaviour consultations are not included in the plan. Consultations must be performed by a veterinarian.
  • One free standard annual vaccination (reimbursement up to a cost of $100);
  • Up to $100 off one (1) wellness screen annually (reimbursed); and
  • Up to $100 off a desexing procedure (reimbursed).

Thriving Pets Plus – Dog or Cat (other than puppy or kitten):

  • Unlimited free access to online telehealth vet chats and advice to speak to a veterinarian or veterinary nurse from YPP (not available through veterinary clinics); and
  • 12 months flea, tick, intestinal worm and heart worm prevention. This is delivered direct to your home address from YPP at the end of each month for dogs and end of every second month for cats. This is not available for collection via your veterinary clinic.
  • Unlimited in clinic consultations (up to a cost of $75 per visit), provided that an appointment has been made with the participating veterinary clinic during normal clinic hours. Consultations performed outside of normal clinic hours, including weekends and/or public holidays, veterinary specialists or behaviour consultations are not included in the plan. Consultations must be performed by a veterinarian.
  • One free standard annual vaccination (reimbursement up to a cost of $100);
  • Up to $100 off one (1) dental procedure annually (reimbursed); and
  • Up to $100 off one (1) wellness screen annually (reimbursed).

How do I cancel my membership?

Each Thriving Pets membership is for a twelve-month period. We understand things can change and we are available to discuss cancellation options for your membership. Should you cancel within the twelve-month period and pay monthly, you may be required to pay the difference between the savings obtained on the services provided by YPP or a participating veterinary practice and the total amount of membership fees paid to date.

If my pet goes to live with someone else, can the membership transfer?

Our Customer Service team is happy to discuss any reasonable changes, as long as contact details and payment information is updated.

Can I transfer the membership to another pet?

Unfortunately, this is not possible due to differences in treatment requirements for species and breeds. We recommend contacting our Customer Service Team if you have any questions.

What if my pet passes away?

We understand that this can sometimes occur unexpectedly at any age and therefore we ask that you contact us as soon as possible to organise membership cancellation.

How long is the waiting period to join?

Our membership benefits start straight away. You are a part of Thriving Pets community for 12 months (at least !!

How many free consultations can I have with a veterinarian?

Unlimited provided that an appointment has been made with the participating veterinary clinic during normal clinic hours. Consultations performed outside of normal clinic hours, including weekends and/or public holidays, veterinary specialists or behaviour consultations are not included in the plan.

Can I join for less than 12 months?

We believe that wellness is a continuous cycle therefore we recommend consistent care. Our plans offer and provide the required annual health services required to keep your pet on a wellness pathway across all stages of their life journey.

How long am I obligated to make monthly payments?

Your Thriving Pets membership plan is for a 12-month period and if paid monthly is automatically rolled over each year. If you wish to cancel your membership at the conclusion of a 12-month period, please contact us 14 days before the renewal date to cancel your membership.

What happens if I cancel my membership?

Once your membership is cancelled your member benefits including allowances, discounts, preventative medication and FREE vet chats and advice are no longer available. If you wish to have these available to you again then you will need to resubscribe.

Will a Wellness Plan save me money?

Absolutely! Our goal is to make premium pet wellness care achievable and affordable for all pet parents. We want to provide peace of mind, take the stress out of paying for the necessities and offer the best pet wellness care for your pet.

What problems will a Wellness Plan help me to avoid?

Pet care can be overwhelming, and it’s hard to keep track of exactly what your pet needs and when they need it. A pet wellness plan removes the guesswork and makes it easy for us to provide you with the appropriate pet health care needs for your pet.

Can I use different products to those that are recommended?

We have chosen and strongly recommend the products provided in the Thriving Pets Wellness Plans

Please contact our customer service team if your pet suffers from a medical condition which may cause an adverse reaction to the recommended products.

What happens if my Puppy or Kitten has growth exceeding the original weight range?

No drama. You will just need to update your pet’s weight in your Thriving Pets account, then we will send you the appropriate products.
