Dogs are always being exposed to intestinal worms, even prior to birth. Dogs are exposed to worms in many ways, which is why you need a dog allwormer like ParaGard. Some species of worms can transfer to puppies through the placenta or from their mothers milk, while some species are transferred via the soil in parks and backyards. Puppies under 6 months of age need to be wormed more frequently than adults as their immune system is more vulnerable and they are particularly susceptible to infestation. Unwormed puppies are at risk of developing gastrointestinal problems like diarrhoea and vomiting, poor growth, anaemia and even death. To ensure this does not occur, puppies should be wormed every 2 weeks from 2 to 8 weeks of age, then monthly until they are at least 6 months old. Adult dogs require treatment for worms at least every 3 months.
Safe for treatment of puppies from 2 weeks of age, as well as lactating females. Pregnant females should only be treated 10 days before whelping. Does not control heartworm.
